What's New in this Release

Release 6.2

Sharing from AWV Web Client: You can now share information with conference participants from the AWV Web Client. Currently, this functionality is only available from Chrome browsers and you must install the AWV web sharing application and extension in the browser before you can initiate sharing for the first time.

Microsoft Outlook 2016 Support: You can use your Outlook calendar to schedule MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing conferences. After the Outlook Form Template (OFT) is installed and configured, phone numbers, access codes, and Web links are generated the same as when you log in and schedule a conference through your MiCollab Audio, Web and Video Conferencing account.

MiTeam Integration with AWV: MiTeam users can initiate AWV sharing from the MiTeam collaboration tool. MiTeam users require UCC Premium licenses; however, any user can join an AWV meeting regardless of their UCC license.

Release 5.0 SP2

MCA Launcher Application for UC360 device

This release provides an MCA Launcher application feature which is included as part of UC360 2.1 release.

The main purpose of this feature is to provide a convenient and easy way for a UC360 user to join an MCA web conference. In previous release, you would launch a Browser application on UC360 and enter the URL to join a conference through the web client. Additionally, you would dial into the conference for audio portion of the conference. With the release of this feature, you launch this application on UC360 from Application Launcher panel, enter the access code, specify the server and click to join the conference. If available, the system would dial out to UC 360 device for the audio portion of the conference.

Release 5.0 SP1

MCA Launcher

This release provides a new Launcher feature on MCA for Windows clients. Prior to this release, the only methods to join a conference were via the MCA web page or via the UC Advanced Collaboration feature.

Remote Control enhancement

MCA 5.0 SP1 provides an enhancement to Remote Control called Transfer Control.

Transfer control is enabled after the leader has requested and gained control of a participant's computer. This new ability of the leader is to give a participant control of a second participant's computer.

Release 5.0

Desktop and Web Client Enhancements

The MCA Desktop Client and Web Client look and feel are being refreshed and enhanced for this release. MCA 5.0 allows users to participate in an MCA conference on a wide variety of devices and platforms. This release further enhances the support of web browsers on multiple platforms: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari as well as iOS and Android built-in browsers. Specific to this release, Internet Explorer 9 and 10, Windows 8, iOS 6.0 and Android 4.1 will be supported.

In addition, in support of Windows 8 you will notice a feature name change (only appears if you are running Windows 8):

Personal ID (Identification)

MCA 5.0 introduces Personal ID which is a unique numeric identifier for each user of the system. The Personal ID provides a way to identify and link audio and web participants. The Personal ID also allows for a level of control over who is allowed access to conferences. This feature especially impacts the Join Page and the process associated with joining a conference by phone.

Google Application Integration

MCA 5.0 now supports Google integration. In this release, you can invite members to a conference via Google and also have the invited guests easily enter the scheduled conference into their calendar.

SIP Video Support

A SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) Device such as the UC360 or UC Advanced Clients will be able to send and receive video stream after joining an active conference on the MCA server. This functionality will be supported through a configured MCD PBX only. Prior to MCA 5.0, a SIP Device could only participate in the audio portion of the conference.

High Definition (HD) Video Support

MCA 5.0 introduces HD Video support by adding user control to effectively manage this new capability. In order to support HD Video, a profiling tool will be available to help determine the capabilities of the client endpoints in a conference. This tool will determine if the endpoint can support HD Video stream encoding and decoding.

Session Recording Enhancements

Additional administration mechanism were added to the user portal to better manage Session Recordings, such as auto-clean mechanism, disk utilization alert, deletion of recordings as well as the identification of recordings as permanent records.

Conference Enhancements

Several conference feature enhancements were introduced in MCA 5.0, such as an audio conference lock and muted conference join announcement.

Audio Through Client (2-way Client Audio)

MCA 5.0 introduces fully integrated and fully functional 2-way client audio also known as Audio Through Client. You no longer need the desk phone to join the audio portion of the conference. An Audio button option was added to the Meeting Center to start using the microphone/speakers connected to your PC.

1-way Audio to Web Client

The ability from the MCA Web Client to use "listen-only" capability (1-way audio).
